Lace is a blue merle Shetland Sheepdog and was born in Aug 2000. We had Lace in Feb 01 when she was 6 months old and she started obedience in June 2001. At the end of June 2001 she was joined by her litter brother Barney.

I progressed with Lace and she got all 3 Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards. The training group we went to also had a display team that when around the local area giving displays of pet dog obedience. We joined this display team in spring 2002 and finished at the end of summer 2004 as we were finding it hard to do these displays and agility competitions.

At this club we got our first taster of agility at one of their fun days and Lace hated it, but as her brother loved it we started to look for agility training classes in the area.

We joined Allsorts Agility in Feb 2003 and Lace was still not sure about it. You could see her thinking "Why go over this jump when I could go round or under and I am not going in to that dark tunnel." In May 2003 she was dragged along to her first competition which was Wilmslow's Show at Sale. Her first course was touch and go and she did! She did the long jump ran out of the ring to find Brian and Barney who were just about to do a jumping course. It took me to August that year to do 8 jumps in one go without her running away at a competition. Lace now understands that Agility is fun and got her first clear round at Beacon in May 2004. Lace has now gone on to get more clear rounds and a few places at both KC registered and unaffiliated shows. Lace still had her moments in 2004 when she would decide that she would walk the course or go and find Barney.

She become Allsorts Agility Champion in Dec 2004 19 points ahead of the 2nd place dog which you guessed was her brother.
